CS Louvres

Louvre systems are an effective way of improving a building’s energy efficiency, providing natural ventilation and airflow to building systems.

CS have been manufacturing and selling louvres globally for over 60 years and bring a wealth of experience, design and performance to the UK range of louvre systems.

The company has its own research and development facility to ensure that all our louvres are fully tested and compliant with global building codes.

The range includes:

CS Rain Defence Louvres

Performance louvres allow the passage of air, whilst providing the area beyond with protection from rain penetration. They are typically used when high levels of ventilation and maximum protection from the rain is needed, for instance when sensitive equipment such as HVAC plant is behind the louvre.

CS Rain Defence Louvres are available in vertical and horizontal blade arrangements, with hidden or visible mullions and in a range of depths.

RSH-5700 & RSV-5700 models are some of the best performing products available in the market, offering good airflow and excellent weather protection.

CS Ventilation Louvres

Standard drainable louvres have simple blade shapes, which allow good airflow but give limited defence against rain. They tend to be preferred for projects where high free area is important and occasional water penetration is not a major concern.

CS Screening Louvres

Screening louvres are generally used in locations where rain penetration will not cause significant problems, or the location is sheltered from adverse weather conditions, and economy is the primary consideration, such as screening of rooftop plant or a multi-storey car park.

CS Acoustic Louvres

A range of louvres suitable for applications where both noise control and airflow are required. CS Acoustic Louvres can be installed as standalone screens, or can be integrated into building facades. They can also be used in conjunction with any of the rain defence, ventilation or screening options, if required.

Construction Specialties’ (CS) high performance rain defence louvres

December 2021

Construction Specialties’ (CS) high performance rain defence louvres are providing maximum airflow and rain defence as part of an innovative cooling and power system at two energy efficient data centres in Germany.

Controlling the temperature and humidity of the air within critical infrastructure such as data centres is an important consideration. It’s why the Noris Network’s two new state-of-the-art data centres in Nuremberg and Munich have adopted an innovative Combined Energy & Cooling Cells (CECC) offering 70% less energy consumption for cooling and operation compared to more traditional solutions.

In order to provide optimum airflow and maximum protection from wind-driven rain within the space-efficient design, the specification for both centres saw the installation of pre-fabricated CS RSV-5700 Rain Defence Louvres.

Featuring a complex, extruded aluminium blade profile, the RSV-5700 is a 129mm deep, single bank louvre with excellent performance characteristics. Its unique blade shape is designed to effectively separate rain droplets from the flow of air and to collect them in multiple blade channels. The vertical orientation of the blades utilises gravity to allow rain water to drain away easily, helping achieve Class A rain defence up to 3.5 m/s, combined with Class 3 airflow and spacial efficiency. The system is supplied pre-fabricated in sizes meeting project requirements for fast and easy installation.

With data centres a critical element of our global economy, their functionality and design must never be compromised. The installation of CS Rain Defence Louvres at the Noris Network’s data centres has ensured efficient airflow and reliable weather protection for the long term.

CS Louvres were specified- Lancing Prep School – Hove, UK

January 2020

Lancing Prep School in Hove is an Independent School with 270 children between the ages of 3 and 13. Responding to the growing demand for school places in Hove, the school decided to build a new building that would allow it to increase its pupil numbers to 300 and its teaching staff from 25 to 27.

Designed by award-winning architects HazleMcCormackYoung (HMY) LLP, the two-storey building includes a multi-purpose hall, changing rooms, kitchen, a gallery, and foyer space. Built with sustainable materials using environmentally friendly techniques, the new multi-purpose hall also incorporates energy efficient technologies.

CS Louvres were specified to provide essential ventilation and screening for the building. A combination of SLA Screening Louvre and RSH-50 Performance Louvre were used to provide the optimum level of ventilation and rain defence for the required area.
